Pilates at Play
The Pilates Center of Olympia (PCO) opened as the first fully-equipped Pilates studio south of Seattle in 1998. We adopted “Pilates at Play” as the phrase that best describes our philosophies and the value of levity in exercise. In 2001, we relocated from Woodland Creek Physical Therapy to our current location in downtown Olympia.

Trisha Hatfield Graves
Studio Owner, Master Pilates & Pole Dancing Instructor
Several years ago, the Governor of Washington State presented Trisha Hatfield Graves with the “Woman of Courage” award at the annual “Women of Achievement Awards Ceremony”. This award was in recognition of Trisha’s work in the community and represents her dedication to serving others through her signature style supporting health and fitness. Trisha is certified in two 2-year Pilates teacher training programs; was the eleventh individual in the State of Washington to become fully certified in the method of Pilates, and opened The Pilates Center of Olympia as the first fully-equipped studio south of Seattle in 1998. In 2006 she also completed a pole dancing instructor’s certification program. Incorporating the philosophies of Pilates, she has innovated fitness classes ranging from classical Pilates apparatus and mat, to classes using pole dancing and playground swings. She is an internationally recognized premier Pilates instructor, and has written a book as well as several articles for health publications. Trisha is co-founder of The Tianshi Foundation providing events and offerings supporting progressive wellness and proactive healthy options. She views humor, play, and levity as key elements to a strong immune system.
Heather Christopher
Pilates & Pole Dancing Instructor
Heather teaches Pilates mat classes as well as private and semi-private sessions on the apparatus. She also teaches private and semi-private pole dancing for fitness and Retro-Tease classes. A PCO client since 2002, Heather fell in love with the practice of Pilates, and the atmosphere of the studio. In early 2009 Heather decided to take her interest to the next level and began an in-house teacher training program with her friend and mentor Trisha Hatfield-Graves. Heather is an intuitive and patient instructor who enjoys working with clients of all levels and capabilities. She has a bachelor's degree in English with a theatre minor from the University of Puget Sound and is an avid participant in the local theater community.
Cally Baker
Pole Dancing Instructor
Cally has worked with her mother Trisha since 2004 assisting with the development and marketing of women-specific events. As a journalism student at Seattle Central Community College, she won several awards for articles written with a focus on the plight of women in the Middle East and sexual offenders in the United States. A voracious reader of primarily non fiction biographies, she has immersed herself in furthering her understanding of feminine issues. In 2005 she entered a Pole Dancing Instructor’s Certification Program and has co-taught classes and offerings at the studio since 2006. Her approach is irreverent; her style playful. She has one son, Damien, born in 1998. She delights in supporting women in self acceptance and overcoming unhealthy body perceptions.
