Amazing, cheap, beautiful, sumptuous produce!
Top banana really is on TOP for produce markets! Even though a large grocery store is more convenient, I prefer to head to TB. Their prices are the best around for quality produce and they allow me to bring my dog in while I shop -- awesome! The staff is very helpful and friendly, always ready to help pick out the best produce. I always come home with a heavy bag and money still in my wallet.
One thing to note, they have a $10 minimum on credit card purchases, so its smart to bring cash if your list isn't too big.

I've frequented Top Banana for several years now. and am happy that they are open year-round. They stock fresh produce and every single employee I've ever met has been friendly and helpful. I once commented that a plum looked good enough to eat. One of their employees overheard me and sliced into it, offering me a fat wedge. Insert swooning here... for the plum, not the guy even though he was easy on the eyes.
Skip plastic and bring your own bags. You'll be able to fill them for cheap. You won't regret your purchases here, I promised. And they sell a few other items like milk, cheese and Goya products. Sometimes there's baguettes from a local bakery too...
Don't get me wrong. I love myself a Farmer's Market. But I love a good deal just a little bit better. And to be honest, why drop a wad of cash when you can come here and afford everything plus more!
Top Banana really is Tops. The owners here won't cheat you, but give you the best of the best in quality, selection, variety and price on fruits and vegetables. Weekly deals on seasonal and local produce keep me coming back. A lot of the time their deals are better than Fred Meyer, Safeway and QFC.
They offer both organic and non-organic produce. And not everything is super local. For example: they carry pineapple and mangos...but I'd like you to show me where in Washington a farm can grow tropical fruit.....
Come here for a treat if you are hungry cause they always have samples :) Crazy wide selection of apples: at least 10 varieties. Incredible friendly, informational, and fun employees. They always bust me up laughing. Willing to give you a deal too. For instance I informed them my mango went bad/rotted before I ate it, so they gave me a new one, no charge, no questions asked.
If you love the gorillas at the local Woodland Park Zoo, you'll be happy to know that Top Banana sends a box of fruit to their gorillas!
Bring cash - they accept cards, but they get charged a premium for card service. Support this local mom and pop shop. They are here to support you!
