We treat the Mind and Body as One
Our bodies “speak” to us about the truth of our emotional states. Have you experienced your heart beating with excitement or getting a knot in your stomach when you have something difficult to say or do? Do you remember a time when you knew in your gut just what needed to be done? Your body is the place where your emotions, thoughts and memories live. It is your ever-present companion through all your life experiences.
Most of us have been taught to think of our bodies and minds as separate systems and believe they function independently, so we treat them separately. However, they are interwoven to form a single whole – every part of the body is the mind expressing itself and every bodily sensation coloring the mind’s landscape.
My role is to help you learn to listen to your body’s messages and to move forward through stuck places using heighten awareness to explore areas that are difficult to access through either talk or touch alone. I offer my clients profound respect while encouraging growth by balancing support with challenge. I believe dialogue, present-centered awareness and healthy relationship are critical ingredients not only in the healing process but also for a more vibrant life.
